Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Semliki National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kitagata Hot Springs
Day One: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. A member of staff of Our Company will meet you. Transfer to your hotel in Kampala ƒ?” about 40 km away. Depending on your arrival time, a complementary sight tour of Kampala City is optional. Overnight in Kampala.
Day Two: After breakfast leave Kampala and head towards Murchison Falls National Park. Take a break to view the spectacular Nakasongola Rocks. Lunch at Masindi before driving on to the park. Visit the magnificent falls where the mighty Nile forces itself through a narrow passage before dropping about 50 metres below. After this breathtaking stop drive on while viewing a variety of game. Relax and enjoy the evening at Paara Safari Lodge.
Day Three: Breakfast and then embark on a game drive in the northern section of the park. The wildlife to watch out for includes elephants, giraffes, waterbucks, hartebeest, lions, oribis and many others as well as a range of savannah birds. Lunch at the lodge. After lunch enjoy a launch trip that will take you to the foot of the waterfalls. On the way you will view hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, elephants, among others. After the launch trip, prepare for a drive to Masindi Town. Evening and overnight at Masindi Hotel
Day Four: After breakfast, embark on a long drive to Fort Portal ƒ?” stopovers at historical sites to include the Bunyoro Kings burial sites among others. Visit the burial sites of the Bakama of Toro Kingdom before retiring for overnight at the Mountains of the Moon Hotel in Fort Portal.
Day Five: After breakfast, drive to Kibale National Park, the home of the chimpanzee and a variety of other wildlife. Spend the whole day tracking the primates and enjoying the gifts of nature. Evening at leisure and overnight at Ndali Lodge.
Day Six: After breakfast head westwards to Semliki National Park. Cut across the Rwenzori foothills as you open onto the scenic beauty of the national park with the distant views of the meandering Semliki River and Congo beyond the horizons. Enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside endowed with birdlife and lush vegetation. Stop at the Sempaya hot springs to ponder the splendour of nature. Packed lunch in this beauty green. After lunch return to Fort Portal for dinner and overnight.
Day Seven: After breakfast, head southwards along the western arm of the Great Rift Valley, past Kasese Town before entering the enviable Queen Elizabeth National Park, home to over 100 mammal species and over 606 bird species. View a variety of wildlife, including elephants, Uganda kob, waterbucks, bushbucks and warthogs before arriving at Mweya Safari Lodge. Lunch at the Lodge. After lunch enjoy a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel connecting Lakes George and Edward as you view more wildlife ƒ?” hippos, hundreds of bird species, elephants, waterbucks and buffaloes - all around the Mweya peninsula. Upon return to the shore either have the rest of the evening at leisure at the bar by the poolside or visit Katwe salt lake. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day Eight: The search continues for natureƒ?Ts secrets ƒ?” early morning drive to Ishasha, Queen Elizabeth National Park southern sector. Sight the nocturnal hunters (lions, leopards and hyenas) as they head back to their den. Cross the Kazinga Channel at Katunguru. Turn right towards Ishasha, by passing the well laid out hippo pool with frequent sighting of baboons. Packed breakfast on the way. Upon entry to Ishasha, prepare to view a variety of game ƒ?” buffaloes, Uganda kob and follow the tracks in search for the famous tree-climbing lions. At Ishasha camp drive on to the River Ishasha dividing Uganda and Congo. At the River you can view hippos at close range. All morning spent on game drives. Lunch at the camp. After lunch drive at leisure back to your lodge in the northern sector with plenty of diversions to view more and more wildlife. Enjoy a relaxed evening at the bar/gardens of your lodge. Overnight at the lodge.
Day Nine: Early morning game drive to track hyenas, lions, leopards and several other game. Return to your lodge for breakfast. Then drive due east towards Kyambura escarpment, and on through the hilly Bunyaruguru endowed with crater lakes. Go past Igara tea estates. At Ishaka, turn right and head towards Kitagata hot springs. Enjoy nature-given hot baths, which carry healing components. Packed lunch by the hot springs. At leisure drive back to Kashenyi-Bwoma. You will get a feel of real Uganda village life while you stroll through the village (crafts) shops. Tasting the local gin and banana wine is highly recommended for those who can. Well in time, walk back to your accommodation point where you will enjoy the unspoiled hospitality ƒ?” goat roasting and plantain/potato baking in the open bad-weed ovens. Complementary country entertainment and story telling are optional. Retire to your ƒ?onestƒ?? whenever you canƒ?Tt resist sleep and fatigue anymore!
Day Ten: No wake-up alarm clocks. Be nature-driven and get up at leisure. Take a stroll through the village roads to wave good-bye to these lovely folks before a healthy breakfast and boarding for a drive back to Kampala with leg stretching, lunch and souvenir stopovers along the way. You will drive through the towns of Mbarara and Masaka. Drop-off at your hotel in Kampala later in the day.
Day Eleven: Depending upon your flight details, you will be picked up from your hotel by a representative of Our Company for a transfer to the airport.
