Lake Mburo National Park, Kitagata Hot Springs, Kisoro, Bwindi Gorilla National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Semliki National park and Murchison Falls National Park
Day One: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. A member of staff of Our Company will meet you. Transfer to your hotel in Kampala - about 40 km away. Depending on your arrival time, a complementary sight tour of Kampala City is optional. Overnight in Kampala.
Day Two: Pick-up from your hotel. Take the Masaka Road exit due west. Drive through the rounded-top Buganda hills evenly endowed with papyrus swamps. First stopover at the equator for a snap with a foot in either hemispheres and a glimpse at what Ugandan craftspeople can do at the adjacent souvenir shops. Continue through the infamous Katonga Bridge, entrenched in the people’s minds for its notoriety during the past wars - more war memorabilia are an open museum spread along the Trans-African Highway. Your guide will recommend worthwhile stopping spots to stretch your legs and enjoy the local highway refreshments of mchomo and softies.
After Lyantonde Town, start enjoying the interminable undulating Ankore hills that give way to Lake Mburo National Park, the home of over 68 different mammals and a variety of bird species and reptiles; the natural habitat of the impala, zebra, eland, warthogs, a variety of monkeys, buffaloes, Roan antelope, hyenas, jackals, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, sitatunga antelopes, black and yellow papyrus gonalek, topis and the adjacent majestic long-horned cattle linked to the mysterious Chwezi dynasties. Enjoy a game drive up to Lake Mburo where you will have packed lunch; shared with nature - the native monkeys, while they entertain you, free of charge, with their acrobatic skills! After lunch complete the game drive circuit amidst nature’s plenitude and game. Drive westwards through Mbarara town on to Kashenyi-Bwoma, the authentic Ugandan village concept. You will feel the warmth of these hospitable country folks while you stroll through the village (crafts) shops, where for the first time you will get a feel of real Uganda village life. Tasting the local gin and banana wine is highly recommended for those who can. Well in time, walk back to your accommodation point where you will enjoy the unspoiled hospitality - goat roasting and plantain/potato baking in the open bad-weed ovens. Complementary country entertainment and story telling are optional. Retire to your ‘nest’ whenever you can’t resist sleep and fatigue anymore!
Day Three: After breakfast, drive to Kitagata Hot Springs. Stop to and enjoy a joints-rejuvenating natural hot bath. Continue to the Switzerland of Africa through the winding roads of Kigezi. Lunch at Kabale Town. After lunch drive on towards Kisoro while enjoying this scenic beauty of challenging hills, crested crane filled valleys, lake Bunyonyi and the bamboo forests. You will soon be astounded by the beauty of the views of the triplets volcanoes of Muhavura, Mgahinga and Sabinyo. Evening and overnight at leisure in Kisoro.
Day Four: After an early breakfast head towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the home of the Mountain Gorillas. Lunch in the park. Spend the rest of the day tracking the Mountain Gorillas and enjoying the breezes of nature still untouched by human endeavours, as evidenced by the lush tropical vegetation. Dinner and overnight in the park.
Day Five: After breakfast, prepare for a drive northwards towards Queen Elizabeth National Park, home to over 100 mammal species and over 606 bird species. Drive through the border trading centres of Butogota and Kihiihi on to Ishasha, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. View game on your way to the camp. Dinner and overnight at Ishasha camp.
Day Six: Early morning game drive to catch the big cats as they retire to their dens. Return to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast go on further circuits to view buffaloes, topis, Uganda kobs, the tree climbing lions and many others. Head towards the northern sector via Katunguru crossing on the Kazinga Channel. Turn left and head towards Mweya Safari Lodge. Lunch at the hotel. After lunch walk down to the Channel for a launch trip that will take you very close to a variety of game quenching their thirst as well as the permanent residents - the hippos. At one spot you won’t believe your eyes by the incredible number of thousands of birds living in harmony. Upon return to the Lodge, drive on to Katwe salt lake where human endeavour survives on nature-given resources. View flamingos on a nearby crater and enjoy a late game drive. Dinner and overnight at your selected lodge in the park.
Day Seven: After breakfast, follow the tips from the game rangers in search for a variety of game - Uganda kobs, buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs, elephants and a lot more game. Follow the numerous circuits in the park before returning to the lodge for lunch. After lunch walk down to the Channel for an optional launch trip or enjoy a relaxed afternoon in the swimming pool. Dinner and overnight at your selected lodge in the park.
Day Eight: After breakfast, drive to Kibale National Park, the home of the chimpanzee and a variety of other wildlife. Spend the whole day tracking the primates and enjoying the gifts of nature. Evening at leisure and overnight at Ndali Lodge.
Day Nine: After breakfast head westwards to Semliki National Park. Cut across the Rwenzori foothills as you open onto the scenic beauty of the National Park with the distant views of the meandering Semliki River and Congo beyond the horizons. Enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside endowed with birdlife and lush vegetation. Stop at the Sempaya hot springs to ponder the splendour of nature. Packed lunch in this beauty green. After lunch return to Fort Portal for dinner and overnight.
Day Ten: After breakfast, get set for a long drive towards Masindi Town. View historical sites and the beautiful countryside. Retire at Masindi Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day Eleven: After breakfast head towards Murchison Falls National Park. Visit the magnificent falls where the mighty Nile forces itself through a narrow passage before dropping about 50 metres below. After this breathtaking stop drive on while viewing a variety of game. Relax and enjoy the afternoon at Paara Safari Lodge.
Day Twelve: Breakfast and then embark on a game drive in the northern section of the park. The wildlife to watch out for includes elephants, giraffes, waterbucks, hartebeest, lions, oribis, as well as a range of savannah birds. Lunch at the lodge. After lunch enjoy a launch trip that will take you to the foot of the waterfalls. On the way you will view hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, elephants, among others. Dinner and overnight at Paara Safari Lodge.
Day Thirteen: Breakfast at leisure. Prepare to head back towards Kampala. Lunch on a selected town restaurant. On the way pay a courtesy call at Nakasongola rocks - arrive in Kampala early evening.
Day Fourteen: Depending upon your flight details, you will be picked up from your hotel by a representative of Our Company for a transfer to the airport.
