Congo Gorilla Safari(3)

3 Day Gorilla Safari in Congo.
Day 1:

After breakfast, leave Kampala Southward to reach Kisoro. Stop over at the Equator for a photograph. Then you drive through the Ankole region, where you see the typical Ankole cattle, coffee plantations and the different vegetations of Uganda, up to the terraced and cultivated hills of the Kigezi region, best known as the “Switzerland of Africa”.
Lunch en route. Kisoro is located within the area of the rain tropical forests at the borders between Uganda, Congo and Rwanda, at the foothills of Muhavura and other Volcanoes. Dinner and overnight at Kisoro Tourist Hotel.

Day 2:
Gorilla tracking:
Early morning departure for the mountain gorilla tracking in Virunga National Park in Congo. After the briefing from the authorities of the park, set off for the trekking into the rain tropical forest searching for the habituated gorilla family.
You remain close to the beautiful primates for over one hour, for observation and photography. Make sure you carry with you packed lunch and water. After tracking go back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Kisoro Tourist Hotel or, in alternative, drive to Lake Bunyonyi and spend the night at Arcadia Cottages.

Day 3:
After breakfast drive back to Kampala. Lunch en route.

Rhino Tracking

Uganda’s Rhinos population has steadily started increasing. Ugandan National Parks will soon get a distribution of the rising Rhino population that is currently being habituated at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where these beautiful rare animals are reproducing while being carefully cared for and secured from the local poachers.
Rhino tracking will probably, be more popular than Gorilla tracking safaris, since tracking Rhinos is a cheaper tour. Once well distributed among the parks, it will be possible to track Rhinos in any National Park in Uganda.
