Kibale Primates Tour(2)
Kibale Primate Safari (2 Days):
Day 1:
Your driver/ guide will pick you from the hotel. Then head for Kibale Forest National Park, a large protected block of rainforest, which has the highest number of primates in Uganda as well as Africa. This scenic drive takes approximately 5 hours arriving in the afternoon.
You will stopover in Fort portal town for lunch before driving to Ndali Lodge/ Rwenzori View Guest House where you will stay prior to your chimpanzee tracking tomorrow. After checking in, you will go for a guided walk in Bigodi Swamp to look for different different bird species. Dinner and overnight at a luxury Ndali Lodge/Primate Lodge or Budget kanyankyu Ecological site (FB).
Day 2: Chimp Trekking:
After breakfast, report to the ranger station in Kibale National Park at 08.00am for Chimpanzee tracking in the incredible diverse forest which is home to over 13 species including red colobus monkey, grey mangaby, baboons and bushbabies, the Grey-Throated Flycatcher, Masked & Black-Capped Apalis’, Chestnut-Winged Starling, Orange -Tufted & Tiny Sunbirds. A good network of forest trails provides much to delight botanists and butterfly lovers, while birders are in for a treat with 335 species recorded including the endemic prirogrine’s ground thrush. The elusive forest elephant, smaller and higher hairier that its savanna counterpart, moves seasonally into the developed part of the park. These make Kibale an interesting and a worthwhile destination. After this wonderful experience, you will depart for Kampala.
